Acro & Cheer/Pom

AcroDance is an art form specifically for dancers. Acro has softer, more lyrical looking lines, with the emphasis being on lengthening “through” the tricks and holding pretty balances with interesting variations. In Acro, we teach our students to dance into and out of Acro tricks, with minimal obvious “prep” before and after a trick. Despite being technically difficult to execute, acrobatic tricks are meant to blend in seamlessly with dance steps, providing an extra level of excitement and flair to dance choreography.  Girls and boys interested in learning the skills and techniques needed to prepare for high school cheer/pom tryouts...or those that just want to have fun, this class is for you!!  Learn the proper motion/pom technique, jumps, basic tumbling, stunts and song/pom techniques (kicks, kick-lines, turns, leaps & jumps) that will prepare the student for cheer and/or song leading tryouts in high school or for those who desire a class just to stay brushed up on their skills

Contemporary

This style is thought to be a hybrid of technique from the genres of Ballet, Lyrical, Modern & Jazz, even Hip Hop.  It can be performed to many different styles of music, and is the most eclectic style of dance, varying from smooth and graceful movement, to sharp and athletic movement, with the common thread being a connectivity of mind and body.

Hip-Hop

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.

Lyrical

Ballet basics combined with modern dance set to contemporary music make this class a great addition to any jazz, ballet or tap class.
